1. How do I make a booking?

2. What does it cost?

3. Do you charge for travel and accommodation?

Yes.

Travel is charged at 40p/mile from and return to AB42.

Overnight expenses are £65pppn. 


4. How many people can attend a workshop?

Please go to the Class Sizes page.

 

5. How many workshops can you fit into one day?

Up to 3 workshops per day for schools.

Special arrangements can be made for festivals, transition days etc.

 

6. Does an responsible adult need to attend the workshops?

Yes, at least one responsible adult (apart from K'NEXT Generation's presenter/facilitator) needs to be present in the workshop at ALL times. This means that for younger children, who need to be accompanied on bathroom breaks, at least two responsible adults must attend the workshop.

 

7. How long do your workshops last?

From 45 minutes up to 3 hours.
Special arrangements can be made for festivals, transition days etc.


8. How long do you need to set up?

From 30 to 60 minutes depending on the workshops chosen.


9. What room and facilities do you need?

The school hall or gym is best for most of the workshops. Some of the workshops require tables and power sockets.

10. We don’t have a hall/gym - is this a problem?

No.

A large cleared classroom can be used if necessary.

11. Our hall/gym is used for lunches – is this a problem?

No.

We will timetable around your usual school routine.


12. Do we need to provide anything?

Just as explained above, oh, and some pupils too, please!

All the equipment required for the workshop will be provided except for the K'NEX Enterprise Workshop but this will be explained when you book.


13. What about Disclosure, insurance and risk assessments?

All K'NEXT Generation staff have Enhanced Disclosure Scotland.
K’NEXT Generation has £5 million public liability insurance.

14. What about Curriculum for Excellence? 

All K'NEXT Generation workshops are designed specifically to support the Experiences & Outcomes of CfE.

15. Can you accommodate special needs?

In most cases, yes.

Please call to discuss any special requirements and how the needs of your pupils can best be met.


16. What if we have to cancel?

Cancellations don’t usually happen – bookings can usually be re-scheduled if necessary. If however, re-scheduling cannot take place then you are liable for payment in full. Please see Booking Conditions.

 

17. What if K'NEXT Generation has to cancel?

Bookings will only be postponed (or in very, very rare cases cancelled) if K'NEXT Generation cannot attend due to unforeseen and uncontrollable circumstances (illness, weather, breakdown, etc). On the very rare occasions that bookings cannot be rescheduled you will incur no costs but K'NEXT Generation does not accept liability for any financial or other losses arising from the cancellation. 

 

18. How do we pay?

An invoice will be provided on the day, or beforehand if requested.

Payment is due within 30 days of the booking being completed.

Payment can be made by cash, cheque, BACS transfer or your council payment system.


19. Can you run a special workshop for us?

Yes, just call to discuss your requirements.
