Schools taking part in the Olympic Towers workshops will be entered into an

Inter-school K’NEX Competition

taking place during May and June 2016.

 

 

This competition is designed to help celebrate the 2016 Rio Olympics

and to support Olympics projects that your school may be undertaking.

 

There are two age categories:

P1-3: Kid K’NEX Olympic Towers Workshop

P4-7 K’NEX Olympic Towers Workshop

 

 

 

Following an introduction to Olympic Towers pupils will work in pairs or small teams to build a free-standing K’NEX tower.  This activity will help to develop teamwork, critical thinking, communication, evaluation and manual skills. The towers will be measured and the workshop will conclude with a discussion about the important characteristics of K’NEX towers. Medals will be awarded to the winning team.

 

 

The tallest tower from each class will be entered into the

relevant age category of the competition.

 

 

Prizes

P1-3: 100+ pieces Kid K’NEX in storage box

P4-7: 400 piece K’NEX set

 

Each workshop will last for 60 minutes and will cost £70 + travel.

Maximum number of pupils per workshop: P1=25, P2&3=30, P4,5,6&7=33, Composite=25.
