Primary Workshops
K'NEXT Generation Primary workshops are designed to inspire and to engage with the next generation of scientists, technologists, engineers, mathematicians and entrepreneurs.
The workshops provide innovative, challenging, exciting and fun activities for primary schools, home education groups, special needs groups, children's clubs and childcare schemes, family learning programmes and science festivals.
As well as reinforcing subject knowledge and understanding, the workshops provide the opportunity for the development of communication, teamwork, problem-solving, critical thinking and fine motor skills as well as resource and time management. This all takes place in a nurturing environment that builds confidence and ensures that everyone succeeds.
The workshops use active learning and are designed to contribute to the Experiences and Outcomes of A Curriculum for Excellence. The workshops help pupils to become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors.
The workshops usually require a large cleared floor space about the size of a badminton court (depending on the number of pupils). Some workshops require tables etc, in these cases a room layout document is available to download.
